In Keystone Heights, FL with Jan Montarsi, Suzanne Ivester The Polymer Chef, and Kira McCoy of CreateAlong
Come enjoy the gorgeous lakeside views under majestic old live oak trees in beautiful and quaint Keystone Heights.
The atmosphere is "summer camp" for adults-
a HUGE window-filled mess hall will house our breakfast and lunch on one side, and our workstations on the other!
We will stay in "bunk house cabins" - but don't worry.
We are limiting the number of people per cabin, and no one has to stay on a top bunk- unless you want to!
Dinners will be fun and adventurous. On your first night, it will be lite fare as we all arrive and get settled in.
Night two- we're going out on the town to sample the local cuisine.
Night three, we'll stay on site and be transported to a colorful fantasy picnic.
And on the final night, you're invited to Kira's country house on 5 acres for a cookout- its just 15 minutes away!
Your stay, food, supplies and classes are all included.
Jan Montarsi is teaching his Minimal Waste Kaleidoscope Cane, and after you create your cane you will learn how to make jewelry items with slices.
Suzanne Ivester is teaching a fun focal pendant jewelry project- you will learn to create the mythical creature Shahmaran, half woman, half dragon.
Kira McCoy will show you how to cover wood and use mixed-media along with your polymer clay to create a gorgeous bird sculpted on a decorative perch.
Prefer not to stay on-site? Daytrip! Our region of Florida has quite a few Airbnb's as well as a few small hotels within a 20 minute drive.
DayTrippers have 9-5 access and lunch included, DayTripper Plus will join us for dinner and stay as late as you like while going off site to sleep.
Need a ride? When you make your payment, you will have access to our private community where we will set up rideshares from the airport, and you'll find friends to bunk with. We will do our best to put you together if you ask :)
Airports: JAX is 1 hour 15 minutes, GNV is 35 minutes away.
We will be re-living our summer camp dreams! All cabins have porches and many have direct lake views. The weather in March should be pleasant, not too hot.
We will have a big bead swap- once we are firm on the number of attendees you'll find out how many to bring.
Destash, trade and sell table: you are encouraged to bring any items you'd like to share with everyone for money or barter.
A selection of CreateAlong.com items will be available for sale on Friday.
Arrival is Wednesday any time after 3 pm EST, pick your bed, set up your work station, have a light supper, mingle and find a spot to watch the sun set over the lake.
DayTrippers will arrive on Thursday morning at 9, and are welcome on-site from 9-5 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Dismissal is Sunday after breakfast. If your flight is later in the day, you are welcome to hang at Kira's or there is plenty to do in the area- there is a gorgeous public lake beach not far away.
For people attending overnight, there’s also a scavenger hunt, campfires, s’mores, nighttime star gazing by the lake, and a few other surprises. The best part about getting people around a campfire at night is that you never know what will happen; maybe we'll have a dance party!
